Hints & Tips
for a successful Children's Portait Session
- Don't scold your child if he or she is not cooperating at the photo session. If your child does not want to be posed, have patience. Let the photographer try different approaches. Oftentimes, great images are captured while the child is allowed to play. If all else fails, you can always reschedule to another time when he might be in a better mood. And don't feel bad if your child is not behaving the way you had hoped. You are not alone. Many children "act up" at photo sessions. With patience and persistence, we usually end up with fantastic results anyway.
- Bring a favorite toy or other prop that will be familiar to your child and might make her feel more comfortable in the studio.
- Solid colored clothes photograph best.
- When scheduling your infant's/toddler's portrait session, take into consideration nap and feeding times and make your appointment for a time of day when he/she is wide awake and more likely to be in a good mood.
